Haven't forgotten
Don't worry I haven't forgotten to re-use the junk mail. I have several posts in "draft" form right now waiting for photo up loads. Some are seasonal, some are complicated. Most should have photos.

1000+ Uses for Junk Mail
Okay....my first post.
Not my first blog by any means---I've got three others...one for personal stuff (private), one for crafting/politics (they need to get seperated), and one for old time movies/radio programs.
But this one...this one is an experiment.
1000+ Uses For Junk Mail
For five years.....at least....I will endevour to come up with ways of using Junk Mail....trying to find as many ways to reuse Junk mail as possible.
Why Junk mail?
Well everyone gets it.....everyone hates it.....and it seems like no matter what you do, you can't stop it.....so why not learn to use it, turning it into something useful?
Why five years?
Well at first it was going to be a one year experiment...but then it dawned on me that the average year only has 365 days in it....I would have to come up with three uses for junk mail almost every day---I'm not so sure I can do that.
Five years will give me 1825 days to work with....that means one a day plus plenty of time for vacations and days off--and there will be times when I am away from the internet....like when I go on the Boy Scout camping trips with my son (no electronics allowed).
So here's the endevour--or is it a hope--posts will contain a photo (at least one) of the usage. If its complicated I will try to get a series of shots.
First we need to define "junk mail".
Junk Mail n. Any form of literature sent to the home or work place that is unsolicited or unwanted. This includes, but is not limited to, credit card offers, catalogs, fliers, newspaper supplements, coupon packets, etc.
Use v. anything that does not involve the original use intended for the peice of junk mail. Catalogs are for ordering, credit card offers are for filling out, newspapers are for reading, etc.
Unique adj. to be different from the others. Each Use can not be the same as the others....using a catalog as a paper airplane is the same as using a newspaper as a paper airplane. A dart shaped plane, while different from a snub nose plane is still a paper airplane.
Unique does not imply originality for our purposes here...some uses are allowed to be mundane and common uses---these will be the easy ones and will probably be used up quickly.
Well we will see how this goes....I have a feeling I won't feel the pinch of it until say 2012--but it should be a fun ride until then.
